i miss those strange days
unexplainable
& no, you weren’t a part of those days
no one was.
it was the strict fusion of me and nature
laying upon rocks, watching the clouds
as they appeared to move aimlessly between the countless trees
i was alone, feeling as though i was the only human being on earth
but it wasn’t a horrible feeling
it was my sanctuary
searching for hidden trails, leaving my home with a direct mission
“i want to get lost today”
“i want to find something i’ve never seen before”
hours and hours spent by the river side,
just getting to know the “flow” of things
i was more familiar with the water gently caressing the rocks
then i was with any hand that has ever touched me
i miss everything about the air of home,
i am the sole heir of that home
but memories are so embedded into every inch of it.
that they survived through the bitter cold of december
to the sweet scent of summer warmth
the winter makes me shaky and uncomfortable,
but i’ve always tried to embrace the coldness of nature
all natures…including human. finding simple beauty in it
but, theres grief in the air now. so solemn, so dark.
…so not beautiful
i’ve lied to myself some time before
but to convince myself of your life would be extreme
it would almost be easier to forget
but your heart beats within me,
i’ve been told i have your smile, and your eyes
our noses are one in the same
i am a reflection of you mother
how could i ever forget
